ABERDEEN ROAD
ALFORD, ABERDEEN-SHIRE
The existing 1 bedroom 19th Century cottage occupied a site on the outskirts of the small town of Alford in Aberdeenshire.
An additional 2 bedrooms, were added to the property along with a larger living dining and kitchen space located within the extension opening out to the garden to the rear.
A simple palette of larch cladding, profiled metal roofing and large picture windows enclose the modest extension which mirrors that of the existing cottage.
Timber frame wall construction and a timber i beam roof structure allowed significant depths of insulation to create a highly efficient thermal envelope.
